WATER–SHIELDS, WALDEN - lightsongfineart

    HOME          GALLERIES

"Water-shields" are small leaves with roots in the bed of a pond or vernal pool. They grow throughout most of the United States, but this is the only place I have seen them.

This pool is directly across from Thoreau's Cove at Walden Pond and adjacent to the path that is a very popular walk around the pond.
