NEW ENGLAND IS VIRTUALLY SYNOMYENOUS with a colorful fall which presents a challenge for a photographer for it seems like all the good shots have been taken.
Accordingly I have a bit of an aversion to classic red trees. You will find a few in this gallery where I think something unusual has happened. However, fall brings out so many colors that other opportunities abound. In addition I have included here images of ice storms that certainly suggest winter but happened, according to the calendar, in the fall.
Although most of the images are from New England, some of my favorites are from the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
