SNOW, ICE & FROST
Winter is most interesting when the trees, grasses, and meadows are not bare.
Frost is probably the most beautiful for it is so delicate. My favorite is on grass.
Snow can be just snow or it can combine with color in autumn as it did here in Smugglers Notch in Vermont. This road is very narrow and twisty and is closed for most of the winter.
Ice storms can be especially spectacular. In the center picture, is an ice storm that lasted for three days (because the sun didn't come out). The view is from the Fairhaven Cliffs just to the west of Walden Pond. I was about to leave after photographing the dirties left from melting snow and ice when I realized I would see someone most unusual: a sunset over an ice storm. You can see the results.
